How much should a small business website cost in Australia?
Quotes for a small business site in Australia range from a few hundred dollars to well over ten thousand. Here is what actually drives the number, and what you should expect to get for it.

If you have asked three agencies for a website quote, you have probably received three wildly different numbers. That is not because one of them is lying. It is because "a website" can mean very different things.
What you are actually paying for
Most quotes bundle together four separate things:
- Design. How the site looks, and how much of it is custom rather than a purchased theme.
- Build. Turning that design into a fast, working site that behaves properly on a phone.
- Content. Words, photos, and structure. This is where most projects stall.
- Ongoing care. Hosting, updates, backups, security patches, and small edits.
A cheap quote usually means one of those four has quietly been removed. Often it is the last one, which is the one you will need every month for the next five years.
Realistic ranges
- DIY builder: low monthly cost, but your time is the real expense, and the result rarely converts well.
- Freelancer, template based: affordable, fine for a simple brochure site, quality varies enormously.
- Studio, custom built: more upfront, but you get a site designed around how your customers actually buy.
The question worth asking instead
Rather than "how much does a website cost", ask "what does this site need to do for my business, and who fixes it when something breaks". A site that brings in two extra jobs a month pays for itself quickly. A site nobody maintains slowly stops working.
What we do at Lucky 7 Digital
We design and build the site, host it, keep it updated, and publish one search focused blog post a month so the site keeps earning its place in Google. One person builds it, and the same person answers the phone when you need a change.
